Image de Sam Friedberg.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Les nouvelles concernant l&#039;environnement n&#039;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 bonnes ces derniers mois et<a href=\"https:\/\/news.mongabay.com\/2019\/10\/demand-for-charcoal-threatens-the-forest-of-madagascars-last-hunter-gatherers\/?n3wsletter&amp;utm_source=Mongabay+Newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=ac45961e14-Newsletter_2019_10_10&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_940652e1f4-ac45961e14-77200833\"> cet article dans Mongabay<\/a> par Sam Friedberg peut offrir une fen\u00eatre sur ce qui pourrait \u00eatre r\u00e9serv\u00e9 \u00e0 d&#039;autres parties de l&#039;Afrique alors que l&#039;impact de la crise climatique transforme des terres autrefois fertiles en champs poussi\u00e9reux, ne laissant aux agriculteurs ruraux d&#039;autre choix que d&#039;abattre leurs pr\u00e9cieux arbres pour le charbon de bois.<\/p>\n<p>L&#039;article raconte comment la demande de charbon de bois d\u00e9cime l&#039;une des for\u00eats prot\u00e9g\u00e9es de Madagascar qui abrite la seule communaut\u00e9 de chasseurs-cueilleurs du pays.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote\"><p>Les Mikea, comme on les appelle, manquent de nourriture \u00e0 mesure que la for\u00eat qui les entoure diminue et que la faune dont ils d\u00e9pendent pour se nourrir dispara\u00eet. Selon les mots d&#039;un membre de la tribu,<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab La for\u00eat est tout ce que je connais, je ne veux pas partir \u00bb, a-t-il dit \u00e0 Mongabay alors qu&#039;il \u00e9tait assis pr\u00e8s d&#039;un feu de camp, fumant sa pipe. &quot;S&#039;il y a assez de nourriture, je veux rester, mais il n&#039;y a tout simplement plus assez de nourriture dans la for\u00eat.&quot;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ce passage d&#039;un charbonnier voisin est aussi particuli\u00e8rement poignant :<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote\"><p><em>Tsifantari Zilbare, un p\u00e8re de 35 ans du village d&#039;Ankilimalinika, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 Mongabay qu&#039;il n&#039;avait jamais voulu \u00eatre charbonnier, mais qu&#039;il s&#039;est retrouv\u00e9 sans autre choix apr\u00e8s que le sol soit devenu si sec qu&#039;il ne pouvait plus cultiver. Il marchait tout en parlant, le long d&#039;un itin\u00e9raire de 20 kilom\u00e8tres (12 milles) que lui et de nombreux autres hommes locaux parcourent maintenant presque tous les jours. Il longe des rivi\u00e8res qui se sont ass\u00e9ch\u00e9es, des champs vides autrefois fertiles et une ancienne for\u00eat o\u00f9 il ne reste plus que des baobabs qui stockent trop d&#039;eau pour en faire du charbon de bois. \u00c0 la fin se trouve une section de for\u00eat \u00e9pineuse originale en dehors du terrain prot\u00e9g\u00e9 du Mikea, parfaite pour se transformer en charbon de bois.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Il est facile de voir comment ce sc\u00e9nario, l&#039;ass\u00e8chement de terres autrefois fertiles, pourrait affecter les parties vuln\u00e9rables de l&#039;Afrique. L&#039;Afrique de l&#039;Est, du Centre et de l&#039;Ouest est particuli\u00e8rement menac\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Des solutions existent et les d\u00e9cideurs politiques et la communaut\u00e9 du d\u00e9veloppement doivent agir avant qu&#039;il ne soit trop tard.
