Hi there. As far as we know there is no charcoal being imported to the US from Africa. Our understanding is that the bulk of exports from West Africa goes to North Africa, Europe. Much of the charcoal exported to the Arabian peninsula appears to come from the Horn of Africa, possibly as far south as Tanzania.

Data has already come in from S.Africa (2 locations), India, Dakar, Madagascar, Brazil, Italy, Zanzibar.

I would like to invite you to forward this request for data contribution to any additional networks you may belong to.

We’ll do currency and unit conversions on this end.
